Animal Collective are set to perform tonight at The Majestic Madison in support of their latest LP Time Skiffs. Their latest album was met with critical acclaim and was featured in EMMIE’s Dare Issue last spring.

“Animal Collective’s first studio album in six years, Time Skiffs, contrasts their previous energetic and upbeat albums with a laid back, experimental and psychedelic listening experience. The opening track, “Dragon Slayer,” gives the album a strong start with its catchy chorus and playful drum pattern. Not only does the song introduce Animal Collective’s new 60s psychedelic sound, but it is a beautiful piece of storytelling, through both the lyrics and song structure. In the following track, “Car Keys,” the line “Why are we in such a rush?” is repeated a few times which nods to the band’s journey over the past few decades.”

The legendary indie-rockers have been around for over 20 years. Time Skiffs is their first full-length album release in over half a decade.

The band previously headlined Pitchfork in 2021. SPIRIT OF THE BEEHIVE, who just performed at Pitchfork last weekend, are set to open tonight.
